Hi,
My current H1 is valid till Feb 15 2010. My lawyer filed for H1 extension in Aug 2009, almost 6 months before the visa expiration date.
After 3 months my lawyer filed an enquiry with the CIS and CIS responded back saying they had sent an RFE on Dec 16th 2009 to my employer. However, my employer hasn't received any mail from CIS. Then my lawyer requested the CIS to send another copy of the RFE on Dec 30th 2009.
However, till date nothing has been received in the mail. Is there any way I can get to know what RFE has been issued by CIS?

On Aug. 13, 2010, President Obama signed into law Public Law 111-230, which requires the submission of an additional $2000 for certain H-1B petitions and $2250 for certain L-1 petitions. Those who are subject to the additional fees include petitioners who employ 50 or more U.S. employees and more than 50 percent of its U.S. employees are in H-1B or L status (including L-1A, L-1B and L-2). For example, ABC company has 60 employees and has 35 employees in H-1B and L-1 status. ABC Company would be required to pay the additional fee for all new H-1B and L-1 petition filings. Extension of status petitions are not subject to the additional fee. The new fees are effective immediately, applying to all petitions submitted on or after Aug. 14, 2010 through Sept. 20, 2014.

When you have no GC and are on h1 legally...can you go on a cruise..I do not have stamping on the PP ..the cruise goes to some places in the caribean??..is there a immigration check while comming back??..how does this stuff work...OR is it no GC no Cruise??..

I came in on an F1 and got transfered to a H1B without leaving the country.
My H1 was approved for 3 years ie till 2012.
Due to problems at my work place, my H1 got revoked by my employer.
I'm in the medical profession, hence, jobs are few and far between if removed form a training program such as I was in. The next cycle of jobs dont start employment till July 2011.
I am currently within the 180 day limit.
What are my options? My countrys consulate is known to be tight fisted with visas, especially as I have overstayed since I lost my job abruptly.
If my fiance and I do get married, am I eligible for for adjustment of status?
Please help!

I received RFE that says" your application contained form I-693 in which the required TB skin test was not conducted. Please note there may be conflicting information on some published form I-693 instructions regarding when the chest X ray Report should be performed. It is required only when the TB skin test indicates a reaction equal to greater than 5 mm, or when the reason for why the TB skin test is medically inappropriate to perform has been annotated on theform I-693. Please submit a newly completed form I-693 indicating the results of the required skin test."
I did TB skin test in 2007 that came negative and it appears to me, civil surgeon did not updated results on I-693 form. After consulting with the doctor they filled up new I-693 from with 2007 test results and gave me in a sealed envelop. I need to know whether 2007 results will be acceptible to USCIS or do I need to do it gain before I submit response. Please advise.

Company A filed my PERM in Sep 2008 showing 5 yrs job experience as of April 2005 .
I joined Company B citing 6 yrs job experience as of Dec 2009 due to various reasons.
Joined Company B in Dec 2009 and have H1b valid till April 2011 which is when my 6 year period ends.
My issues are:
1. If Company B files for my 7th year extension using the pending PERM, will the job experience discrepancy pose any problems ?
2. Does Company B have to know all the details in my pending PERM or just the case number to use it?
3. What is the earliest Company B can apply for 7th year extension?

You can only stay in the US if you can change to another lawful status. As a UK citizen, the only work-authorized status that might be available, though difficult, is O-1 for extraordinary ability aliens. If the company won't start the permanent residence process for you, unfortunately you have very limited options.

You can shift to new employer and start the GC process again. The approved I-140 is useful to retain the PD if not revoked. Otherwise no use.

Opponents of Arizona's SB1070 immigration law scored another victory in the courts yesterday. In the case of Friendly House v. Whiting, the court overruled a motion to dismiss the case challenging the law. The judge noted that "Racial discrimination was a motivating factor for [S.B.] 1070�s enactment" which establishes a legitimate constitutional challenge to the law. I'm trying to figure out how to make a 3d vector animation of a person walking or dancing. more specifically, the outline of a person walking/dancing.
I've seen this before on other sites, but can't remember where. sometimes it's the 3d outline animation, sometimes its asingle-color 2d animation. does that make sense. I'll try to post an example if I find one.
Anyway, does anyone know this process or know of a place that shows how it's done? thanks.

Did you get RFE on renewal or applying for the first time. Did you do E filing of application.
