Here is my point. I spend several hours 3-4 hours at least every day looking through the forum posts hoping to find ways i can contribute to efforts. There are several ideas that are generated in the forum. But cannot find out who is leading it. All i am saying is if we can have a listing of initiatives with some names associated. So i can contribute to the ones that i can support. I am not sure if i am asking for too much here. I am not a IT guy. I do not know what it takes to post it in the front page.

Thanks for your inputs. What I am suggesting is that, every one of us should volunteer for our own good. If you can spend some time, I sugggest that, you send an email to IV core offering them your time so that you can share some of their work load.

Hmm... so whats stopping you from making 80-100 an hour on contracting now? do you have EAD?
It is not a big deal dude...if not for this immigration system, we could be making even more..think about $80-$100/hr if you are an independent contractor. This a minimum for a decent contract with vendor directly.
And if you have ~100-200K for investments, with some experience and any luck..you could be making another 100K out of it from trading and active investing in other areas. That comes to ~250-300K minimum. There are no bounds when life is free and in this great country. Unfortunately, things have turned discriminative and our potentials are being restricted(atleast for non-EAD guys) and you have to be prepared for getting outright kicked out of this country.

I believe this is a very valuable debate/query and unfortunately there is no certain answer for this, there are numerous reasons either ways.....

You should discuss the risks involved in concurrent filing with your lawyer too. In some circumstances if I140 is likely to face hurdles, you should wait for your I140 approval. This is just a caution. Each case is different.

Agree. I still blame name check 180 rule - a major decision by USCIS/FBI helped this backlogg to go from bad to worst.
Name check 180 rule -it allowed thousands of people from EB1 / EB2 Row to get their 485 cleared and consumed major chunk of 2008/09 EB visas. Had it been not there, many old timers, would have used visas as their Name check would have been cleared before them.
Oh yeah, I hear you; I personally know many of my ex-colleagues in a big IT sourcing company who came to US in L1A got their GC through EB1 category within a matter of 6-8 months.....last years 180 rule change does benefit most of these fortunate guys.....

That only 57 is required is not correct. The vote needs 60 to pass the motion. If no is totaling up only 37 but if yes is 59 still then it would not pass. Also if the senator is absent then it is considered a NO vote.
Did you check the link in the original post? It clearly says " Required For Majority: 3/5" meaning 3/5th of the votes is required to pass it. All vote counts in the senate are relative, never absolute. Simple passing of a vote requires 1/2 of the votes and cloture motion requires 3/5 of the votes.

The fee we pay is very less compare to what we pay to Attorneys. And USCIS cannot drastically increase fees. And we are stuck. That is the reality.
I think we should cut a check of same amount what we pay to attorneys.

AFAIK, this memo only applies to those I-140 petitions which do NOT require a labor certification approval. It does NOT apply to EB-2 Advanced degree holder petitions which require a certified labor and BS + 5 yrs or MS + 0 yrs of experience.
Though, for now, most of us who are filing in EB-2 Advanced degree holder category have nothing to worry, this definitely looks like a targeted approach where they are coming after everybody, one category at a time. So its just a matter of time it seems when they come up with something which targets everyone...

I dont think I said anywhere in my post that I don't want "someone else to have the equal right to get benefit"...
What I actually said was in fact that everyone (not just some lucky ones) should have the equal right to get fair benefit within the scope of the existing set of rules that USCIS has itself put in place (Honoring PDs etc).
Please read posts carefully before commenting. And I personally usually refrain from giving red dots and comments in the backgroudd (Somehow it just seems a bit cowardly to me..but that's just my personal opinion).
And as far as bas*$%^&d, it was just a way of expression...Haven't you heard the phrase "You lucky bastard"
...although I agree people could percieve some element of frustration in there...and hence the 'no offence' additive in the brackets in my original post.
I would rather be frustrated at USCIS which richly deserves everone's anger/frustration, than at some unknown lucky bas*$%^&d :D
